THE WHITE GIRL
The White Girl Movie Production
The White Girl is a project co<written by multiple award winning Director and Cinematographer, Christopher Doyle, who has worked with such legendary directors as Wong Kar Wai (In the Mood for Love), Zhang Yimou (Hero), Gus van Sant (Psycho) to name just a few. The script explores the themes of love and the perception of beauty and examines innocence versus the corrupting factors of the modern world. Set against the backdrop of 1960's Hong Kong in a small fishing village, the White Girl is a young beauty who is sheltered by an overprotected father and is allowed to venture out only at night. She is discovered by a famous artist who has taken up residence in the village to escape the influence of the modern world over his art. He discovers a camera obscura, an ancient version of the modern camera that projects images on the wall of his attic. Through this lens he first sees the White Girl and falls in love.
